North Las Vegas Police are investigating the drowning death of a 2-year-old girl found in a pool about 7:10 p.m. Monday.
The identify of the child had not been released late Monday.
North Las Vegas officers were called to the 3700 block of Calumet Farms by a caller who said the child was found in a pool, North Las Vegas Police spokesman Justin Roberts said.
Police, paramedics and fire rescue crews arrived and found several people performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child, Roberts said.
CPR and other life support efforts were continued as the child was airlifted to University Medical Center by Mercy Air ambulance.
However, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:10 p.m., Roberts said.
Detectives interviewed family members and the investigation was continuing, he said.
