Music
Jazz performance
Las Vegas jazz trombonist Kevin Stout will perform with his quintet at 8 p.m. Monday in the ampitheatre at the Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive. Admission is free. 507-3613.
Children's concerts
The Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services presents the following children's concerts as part of its 19th annual Children's Summer Concert Series. Tickets are $3. Call 229-6383 or 229-6211.
"Imagination in Motion" -- 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. today at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Paul Rajeckas and Neil Intraub will perform vignettes using pantomime, modern dance, vaudeville, dialogue and audience participation.
"Jugglemania with Shoehorn" -- 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. The show features juggler Rhys Thomas and tap-dancing saxophonist Shoehorn (Michael Conley).
Trombone quartet
Local entertainer Walter Boenig will lead the Dynamic Trombone Quartet in a variety of music, from classical to country, from noon to 1 p.m. today at the Lloyd D. George Courthouse, 333 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Admission is free. 229-6328.
Blues concert
The Daddy Mack Blues Band will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Tickets are $3 for lawn seating, $5 for section C, $10 for section B, $15 for section A and $20 for section O. 384-8427.
Concert series
Central Christian Church offers a free weekly series entitled, "Hot Summer Nights," at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer at 1001 New Beginnings Drive. 735-4004.
Christian rock
Ascension, a contemporary Christian rock band, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Pkwy. The performances are free. 454-8484.
Amateur night
The Beach is now hosting a "Local Band Night" at 9 p.m. every Thursday at 365 Convention Center Drive. The event is free for both participating bands and patrons. 731-1925.
Theater
Storytellers
Storytellers Hand to Mouth will perform their new show, "Family Yarns," at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $3. 455-7340.
Sign Design Theatre
Sign Design Theatre, a troupe of student performers, will present a program combining American sign language with storytelling and theater at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the North Las Vegas Library District main branch, 2300 Civic Center Drive. The program is free. 633-1070.
Free magic show
Comic magician Mac King will host a free magic show for teens at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Pkwy. King's show is part of the Henderson District Public Libraries' summer program, "Laugh Out Loud," which aims to keep students involved in reading during the summer break. 492-6581.
'The Taffetas'
The Las Vegas Little Theatre presents "The Taffetas" at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets are $18 for adults and $17 for seniors and students for regular shows and $25 for the gala show. 362-7996.
Outdoor theater
The State Parks Cultural Arts Board presents "Oklahoma!," the second play in its "Super Summer Theatre 2003" series, at 8 p.m. today, Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, 18 miles west on Charleston Boulevard in Red Rock Canyon. Tickets are $7. 594-7529 or 895-2787.
