Guest Columnist Linda Frohlich: There’s a Chill in the air

Hey everyone!
First of all, I would like to tell everyone thank you for taking the time to read and respond to last week's article. I guess you are wondering how everything went; Well, there was an overwhelming response for me to play basketball for the Colorado Chill.
I have not made my decision yet. Actually, my agent is in town right now, so we are going to have sit down and talk and discuss my options. As soon as I know what I am going to do I will give you guys the exclusive. You'll be the first to know.
We are now embarking on the halfway point of the season and some things are definitely going to have to change if we, the New York Liberty, are going to make the playoffs. Right now we are a little under .500 with a 7-8 record.
It is so ridiculous to think that there is a chance that we are not going to make the playoffs. Throughout the history of the WNBA, New York has been to the championship game more than any other team in the league. We as a team have to come together and press our way to victory.
As I have previously stated, this season has had some bumps in the road. But I think that champions are able to overcome all obstacles that they face. And we are definitely a championship-caliber team.
This is what makes the season so great, the obstacles, and doing what other people say can't be done. A champion doesn't turn to the left or the right, but focuses on the goal. A champion doesn't look at the problem, but instead sees the victory ahead. A champion doesn't cheat when everyone has their heads turned.
In basketball and in life there are many parallel themes. There are going to be good days and bad days. But how you handle them is what sets you apart from the crowd. I just want to encourage everyone, no matter where road life has taken you to, be a champion, have a champion's heart and mind.
Don't let the mountains of life overcome you, but be an over-comer.
