Bank of America has opened a new prototype store at 4910 S. Fort Apache. Bank of America today opened the new $2.5 million branch, kicking off a two-year, $51.3 million expansion plan in the Las Vegas area.
The Las Vegas building program will produce 19 new local branches by 2005 and is designed to capitalize on the rapid growth in Southern Nevada. It will also coincide with a $2 billion national effort to build 550 new branches in the next three years.
B of A executives say two existing local branches may be replaced with the new-style branches at their existing locations, and the other 17 branches will be at new locations.
The branches feature a new "retail" design that includes host stations manned by greeters and private conference rooms for meetings with personal bankers. The bank also has kiosks for online and telephone banking as well as a series of television screens providing financial news, along with traditional teller windows.
