Tuesday, July 15, 2003 | 11:04 a.m.
A 32-year-old man shot about 8 a.m. Monday outside an apartment at 713 E. Sahara Ave. has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Miguel Ortega.
Ortega died about 11 a.m. at University Medical Center.
Metro homicide detectives spoke to witnesses who said a Hispanic man appearing to be between 22 and 24 years old with a thin build shot Ortega. He left the scene with another man and a woman in a new model white Ford F-150 truck with an extended cab bearing Nevada plates with the letters "PVT."
One of the men is described as having a tattoo on the back of his neck of a skull with a top hat and a cigar or cigarette in its mouth. The tattoo appeared to be about 3 inches tall and is very colorful, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide section at 229-3521. Callers who want to be anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 and may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
