Nevada has seven active U.S. District Court judges, all of whom will convene Wednesday to hear the matter of the Legislature's vote on taxes. The judges will be linked over the telephone, with Judges Howard McKibben and David Hagen in Reno and the other judges in Las Vegas. Here is a look at the active judges:
Prior to his appointment to the federal bench, Pro served as a deputy public defender, an assistant U.S. attorney, a partner in a Reno private practice and deputy attorney general of Nevada.
McKibben served as Douglas County district attorney from 1971 until 1977, when Gov. Mike O'Callaghan appointed him to the state District Court.
After 16 years of private practice in civil law, Dawson was elected justice of the peace for Henderson.
