Letter: Court quashes role of legislators
Saturday, July 12, 2003 | 3:42 a.m.
After Thursday's ruling by the Nevada Supreme Court, why not just close down Carson City and the legislative process? If the people we elect can have their power to legislate pulled out from under them by a bunch of judges, why should they bother?
Let's save the money. Get rid of the legislators and just have the governor show up every two years, show his budget to the Supreme Court (they don't have to actually read the thing), and they can just give their nod. The citizens be damned! Good thing the recount in the 2000 presidential election didn't happen in Nevada.
