Sprint Yellow Pages directory now online

Friday, July 11, 2003 | 9:44 a.m.

Sprint Yellow Pages has taken its show online.

R.H. Donnelley, which purchased the Sprint Yellow Pages in January for $2.3 billion, is now testing an Internet-based directory in Las Vegas, the largest of its 260 markets. Available at www.bestredyp.com, the directory features a standard database search or a book-format search, which displays results in a page format similar to the traditional book.

All companies listed in the book are online, but an online display ad requires an additional fee, said Yellow Pages spokeswoman Darcie Miller. Links to home pages from online ads are also available for a fee. Searching the site is free.

Miller said the company will likely expand the service into other markets.

In order to increase website traffic, the site also features theater listings, television schedules and and other consumer information.
