Man arrested in Sparks beating

SPARKS, Nev. AP) -
(Sparks- One man was hospitalized and another jailed following a beating early Thursday that Sparks police said was instigated by a dispute involving a a woman.
Officers were called to Rock Boulevard and Prater Way around 1 a.m., where they found Reuben Salinas severely beaten and unconscious.
The suspect, James Bigrigg, was arrested a few blocks away
Investigators said the incident began when Salinas, accompanied by Bigrigg's ex-girlfriend, encountered each other in a convenience store. Bigrigg and the former girlfriend argued before Salinas left with her in his car.
According to police, Bigrigg chased the couple in his truck. The vehicles rammed into each other at least three times until stopping at the intersection, where the suspect allegedly beat Salinas about the head and face.
Salinas was listed in critical condition at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, police said.
Bigrigg was jailed for battery causing substantial bodily harm.
