Wednesday, July 9, 2003 | 11:17 a.m.

Citing improved operational efficiencies, Henderson-based Silver State Bancorp announced second quarter net income of $1.4 million, or $1.08 per share -- up from $543,000 or 41 cents in the year-ago quarter.

"We have made a conscious effort to enhance our operations and service delivery," said Tod Little, chief executive of Silver State Bancorp. "Those efficiencies are now providing tangible results to our shareholders."
