Job fair for teens on tap Saturday in NLV
The North Las Vegas Library District will host a teen career and job fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive.
Employers and employment services scheduled to attend are: Nevada Business Services (job training and temporary, part-time employment for youth ages 14-18); Army and National Guard; McDonald's; Art Institute of Las Vegas; Heritage College; Euphoria Institute; Citywide School of Insurance; All Points Truck Driving Academy; Las Vegas School of Floral Design; Millennium Scholarship Program; Upward Bound; University of Nevada, Las Vegas Student Financial Services; and Skill Ramp.
Admission to the fair is free. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.

School music programs invited to join contest
The National Association for Music Education invites schools to participate in School House Jam, its newest talent search, for the chance to win $25,000 toward their school's music program.
One school from each state will win $10,000 toward their school's music program, and from those 50 states, one grand-prize winner will be given an additional $15,000.
Oscar Mayer is urging all Nevada elementary school music teachers to submit an entry for a chance to win $10,000 for their school's music department.
To enter, teachers must submit a VHS videotape (no longer than three minutes) of five or more kindergarten through fifth grade students singing the Oscar Mayer Wiener Jingle, the Bologna Song or the Spanish Jingle.
Contest materials, including rules, entry forms and jingle lyrics, are available by calling (800) 672-2754 or logging on to oscarmayer.com. Entries must be received by Feb. 14.

Law students plan Post 9-11 debate
The Federalist Society and American Constitution Society at the Boyd School of Law are sponsoring a public debate entitled "Post 9-11 Issues on Terrorism, Detentions, and their Effect on Civil Liberties," Monday.
The debate is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Room 102.
