Low-cost carrier called ‘Song’

ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines' new low-cost subsidiary, dubbed Song, will start flying from Boston's Logan International Airport to five cities in Florida on May 31, airline officials said Tuesday.
Song is Delta's response to the increasing competition from discount carriers like JetBlue, AirTran, and Southwest, which have taken up to a quarter of the domestic traffic away from network airlines like Delta.
The new airline is Delta's second attempt to launch a low-cost subsidiary. Song will replace Delta Express.
