Caesars Palace President John Groom resigned last week for personal reasons, an official at Park Place Entertainment Corp. said.
Anthony Santo, president of Park Place's nearby Bally's and Paris resorts, will assume Groom's position in the interim, Park Place spokesman Robert Stewart said.
"We anticipate we will have a permanent replacement announced in the not too distant future," he said.
Stewart declined to elaborate on the move or say whether Groom is retiring from the casino industry.
Groom, 57, had been president of the flagship Park Place property on the Las Vegas Strip for less than a year and a half.
