Creel census clerks report that fishing continues to be slow throughout the entire lower basin of Lake Mead. The fish are still very deep and not actively taking bait. However, one lucky angler using anchovies as bait landed a 28-pound striper at Horsepower Cove.
Anglers fishing Hemenway Cove report very good success for rainbow trout following the NDOW fish stocking. PowerBait and spinners are the baits of choice. NDOW will stock Horsepower Cove, Hemenway Cove, Pumphouse Cove (B5) and North Saddle Cove (B3) today.
Willow Beach anglers are catching their limits of rainbow trout following the weekly trout plants. PowerBait and spinners are the baits of choice.
Striper fishing continues to be slow; however, an angler using anchovies was able to land a 20-pound striper. NDOW stocked rainbow trout at Willow Beach on Thursday.
