CHOCTAW, Miss. -- Rank Group Plc's Hard Rock Cafe unit signed an agreement with a tribe of Indians to operate a hotel and beach club at the tribe's casino resort at Choctaw, Miss., the Wall Street Journal reported, citing the company.
Hard Rock, which licenses its name and operates themed restaurants, sells merchandise, organizes concerts and runs a record label, didn't disclose the terms of its accord with the Mississippi Band of Choctaws, the newspaper said.
The hotel will open by 2006 and operate under a licensing agreement, with the tribe paying an initial fee and regular royalties, the Journal said.
