Letter: Animals deserve better treatment
Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 | 9:04 a.m.
Southern Nevada's dogs and cats are the forgotten ones in our society. The neglected strays -- and many of them are starving and homeless -- wander around, lost and alone.
If only more people would adopt a stray pet from the animal shelter and provide them with a good home, it would be a better world. A dog is the best friend you'll ever have.
Still, animal shelters leave a lot to be desired in taking proper care of the strays. There also have been exposes on some of those horrid puppy mills, where they sell sick puppies to people.
Animals do not deserve to be treated this way.
