Duck Stamp design contest set for kids
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is holding its 2003 Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Contest for students in kindergarten through high school.
Entries must be original (not copies of previous duck stamp contest winners for published pictures), hand-created drawings (not computer generated) of live North American ducks, geese or swans.
Guidelines for the contest and entry forms, as well as an educational curriculum, can be obtained by calling Donna Withers, Nevada Junior Duck Stamp Coordinator, Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge in Fallon at (775) 423-5128 or visit the website (duckstamps.fws.gov). The deadline for entry is March 15.
Registration begins for Corporate Challenge
The Las Vegas Leisure Services Department is accepting registration for the 2003 Corporate Challenge games through Feb. 3.
The program brings employees from all walks of life together to compete in areas other than the work place.
Teams may register under one of four divisions according to the employee base of their company and then compete in that division. Teams can compete in 26 events ranging from basketball and bocce to swimming and shuffleboard.
Opening ceremonies are scheduled April 3 at the Fremont Street Experience.

Hypno-birth class is scheduled Saturday
A hypno-birth class will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 330.
Licensed hypnotherapist Celine Santeler, mother of five children, will teach moms how to be relaxed and calm through childbirth and will show that delivery can be accomplished without an epidural or pain medication.
The fee for the class is $50 per couple. For reservations or more information, call 616-4900.
The Old Fort State Historic Park
will offer a rope making class at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the state park, 500 E. Washington Ave. Cost is $1 for children ages 6-12 and $2 for those 13 and up. For more information, call 486-3511.
Temple Beth Sholom will present
its 23rd annual Genesis Chai Tea at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the temple, 10700 Havenwood Lane. The keynote speaker is Dr. Ellen Cannon, National Political Analyst. Admission is $18. Call 732-0556 for require reservations or for more information.
