Time to order those Girl Scout cookies
Girl Scouts are taking pre-orders for cookies and will begin delivering them Feb. 24. Those who overlook preordering cookies this year can always purchase them during the booth sale period, Feb. 28 through March 16 at most supermarkets and some local retailers.
Call the Girl Scouts service center at 385-3677, Ext. 247 from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or e-mail to tcarey@frontiercouncil.org.
Master Gardner training set Saturday
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension's Junior Master Gardener program training will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the University of Nevada Cooperative Learning Center, 2590 Lindell Road.
Participants will take part in activities and projects that are featured in the JMG Handbook and Teacher/Leader Guide. The JMG program fits into the math, science studies and language arts classroom.
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is an outreach arm of the university that extends unbiased, research-based knowledge from the University of Nevada -- and other land-grant universities -- to local communities. Educational programs are developed based on local needs, often in partnership with other agencies and volunteers.
Also, the Cooperative Extension is offering the free class "Conscious Relationships" from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The course will focus on understanding ourselves as individuals and then applied to different ways of interacting and communicating within a relationship. The topics to be covered in the course include: the new physics and biology of consciousness; the development of defense mechanisms; the fixations of the Enneagram; and the practical applications of these perspectives to help ourselves and our spouse/partner grow in healthy and conscious ways.
The registration fee to cover expenses is $35; $60 for couples. For more information, call 222-3130.

at the Red Cross Family Disaster Kit and Family Disaster Plan information meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Room 703 at Garside Middle School, 300 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Admission is free. For more information, call 877-2438.
