Sales growth on track for discounter

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. today reiterated its January same-store sales growth estimate of about 2 percent to 4 percent.
Same-store sales generally refers to stores open at least a year.
In its weekly sales update, the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailing giant said it also continues to expect 3 percent to 5 percent growth for same-store sales at its flagship stores for the five weeks ending Jan. 31.
