NIGEL MOORE
School: Bonanza
Class: Sophomore
Sport: Basketball
Last week: The youthful Bengals have been coming on, and the performance of Moore is leading the way for the Bonanza resurgence. The forward turned in a pair of stellar performances last week, as Bonanza downed Moapa Valley and Clark. In Bonanza's 62-59 win over the Pirates on Wednesday, Moore scored 21 points and pulled in 19 rebounds. On Friday, Moore's 23-point, 13-rebound effort sparked the Bengals to a 69-65 victory over Clark in the opener of league play. Bonanza has won five of its last six games.
CORTNEY SOBRERO
School: Chaparral
Class: Senior
Sport: Soccer
Last week: What an amazing week for one of the city's top offensive threats. In just a three-game span, the Cowboys' senior standout totaled 11 goals to lead Chaparral to a trio of victories. Sobrero netted a hat trick Tuesday in a 7-1 win over Desert Pines, and came back with a four-goal showing Thursday in a 6-1 triumph over Las Vegas. Sobrero capped her week by scoring three goals in Chaparral's 4-0 win against Eldorado. Chaparral leads the Northeast Division at 3-0.
