Letter: NFL’s position pure hypocrisy

The NFL's position concerning advertising during the Super Bowl is reminiscent of a wonderful scene in "Casablanca."

Claude Rains as Captain Renault -- to placate the cartoonish Major Strasser -- temporarily closes Rick's Cafe Americain because he is "shocked, shocked" to find gambling in the back room, only to be interrupted by one of the croupiers handing him "your winnings, sir!"

I'm sure the NFL quietly thanks its lucky star(s) that there is a Las Vegas to add so much to their ad revenues indirectly, while publicly declining our great city's direct involvement. Such hypocrisy!
