Police, firefighters to battle on court
Mayor Oscar Goodman will officially conduct the tip-off of the charity basketball game between the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue's Throwin' Heat Metro Police's The Dragnets at 4 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The game will run for an hour with half-time contest for spectators. Immediately following the game, local firefighters, police and other emergency agencies will kick off their "Kids Safety Day" fair.
Tickets are $8, with $3 benefiting the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada.

Real estate seminars planned
The Inside Corporation, a Las Vegas based nonprofit corporation, is sponsoring several free lease purchase real estate seminars through April.
The next seminar will be 7 tonight at 8275 S. Eastern Ave. Others are Feb. 19, March 6 and April 5.
The seminars are designed to explain the benefits of the lease purchase system to real estate professionals, investors and would-be homeowners.
All seminar participants will be given complementary literature, including three free books that explain John Ross' lease purchase real estate system.
