Yvette Linda Andino

Yvette Linda Andino, 40, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 2, 1962, in New York City. A resident for nine years, she was a licensed practical nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; three sons, Jason J. Andino, David J. Andino and Joshua T. Andino, all of Las Vegas; her parents, Angelica and Rafael Perez of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Robert J. Perez of Tampa, Fla., and Eugene J. Perez of Jacksonville; and three sisters, Maritza A. Cruz of Las Vegas, Migdalia Perez of Coral Springs, Fla., and Carmen J. Paulson of Albuquerque.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until a 2 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Oliver Baker

Oliver Baker, 70, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Louisiana. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie; five daughters, Cynthia Charles of Katy, Texas, Priscilla Anderson of Jonesboro, La., and Karen Minix, Betty Jeanette Wolfe and Judy Howard, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Oliver Allen Baker of Las Vegas and Jeffery Lynn Baker of Granada Hills, Calif.; his mother, Elmina Baker of Port Arthur, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Carl O. Bengtson

Carl O. Bengtson, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 20, 1933, in Gypsum, Kan. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired warehouse supervisor and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathi Loomis of Rocklin, Calif.; one son, Daniel E. Montgomery of San Diego; four brothers, Vernon A. Bengtson of Huntsville, Ala., Layle E. Bengtson of Topeka, Kan., Marvin L. Bengtson of Holton, Kan., and Paul T. Bengtson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Bruce J. Blair

Bruce J. Blair, 56, of Logandale died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 6, 1946, in Edinburg, Texas. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired Metro Police detective and Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Trish Dawn Blair of Riverside, Calif., and Brandie Helda of Logandale; two sons, Christopher Helda of Las Vegas and Tony Gallenbeck of Australia; his mother, Daisy Blair of Garland, Texas; one brother, Edward Blair of Bluefield, Va.; two sisters, Lee Ann Tatum of Dallas and Evie Marty of Garland, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Frederick A. Brown

Frederick A. Brown, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1945, in Independence, Mo. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired carpenter, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a lifetime member of Carpenters Local 1780, a member of the Moose Lodge and founder of Viet Now in Kansas City, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Carrie Ann Brown and Sommer Brown, both of Everett, Wash., and Tracy Lei Van and Kimberlee Lei Van, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Bradley Hunter of Versailles, Mo., and Christopher Brown and David Brown, both of Everett; three sisters, Elizabeth Stickley of Independence, Mo., Angela Al-Rubaie of Overland Park, Kan., and Sherry Sandoval of Las Vegas; three brothers, Steve Brown and Tim Brown, both of Kingston, Mo., and John Descy of Overland Park; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Louis O. Cassel

Louis O. Cassel, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born March 15, 1920, in Vinita, Okla. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Army sergeant and World War II and Korean War veteran and had traveled with the 101 Wild West Show.

He is survived by one sister, Clara Wise of Georgia; his companion, Betty Fitzgerald of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Robert Elwood Cook

Robert Elwood Cook, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 14, 1923 in Caliente. A resident for 56 years, he was a retired co-owner of an upholstery business and a radiator business, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of Oasis Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and past potentate of Zelzah Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Marcheta; two sons, Tom of Las Vegas and David of Carson City; one brother, Ray of Las Vegas; and two granddaughters.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Masonic Temple. Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Michael E. 'Mickey' Donnelly

Michael E. "Mickey" Donnelly, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 12, 1952, in Akron, Ohio. A resident for 26 years, he was a counselor for the Clark County School District, a member of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors and Palms Spa.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Clarice; two daughters, Krista Donnelly and Kara Donnelly, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Jim Donnelly of Akron, Ohio.

Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. until a 6:30 p.m. memorial service today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Karen Winston Grande and Vincent Sabatino Grande

Karen Winston Grande, 64, and Vincent Sabatino Grande, 67, both of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in Las Vegas. Karen was born July 27, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, and Vincent was born Aug. 20. 1935, in Santa Rosa, Calif. Residents for 10 years, she was a homemaker and he was a general manager in the gaming industry and an Army veteran.

They are survived by one son, Jonathan Barris of California; her father, Cyril Winston; his daughter, Debra Grande; and one grandchild.

Fred Gustin

Fred Gustin, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Gadsden, Ala. A resident for 33 years, he was an investment broker, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by one son, Charles Gustin of Las Vegas; one sister, Rose George of Birmingham, Ala.; and four grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

James Henry Hodgkiss Sr.

James Henry Hodgkiss Sr., 63, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born April 16, 1939, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for five years, he was a retired Navy petty officer first class and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette L.; two daughters, Christine L. Hodgkiss of Phoenix and Cindy M. Hodgkiss of Clayton, N.C.; three sons, James H. Hodgkiss Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., Robert G. Hodgkiss of Lewisville, Texas, and Ronald J. Hodgkiss of Frisco, Texas; two sisters, Betty McErath of Pittsburgh and Judy Wirth of Henderson; three brothers, Bob Hodgkiss, Al Hodgkiss and Charles Hodgkiss, all of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Estel M. Hollingshead, 93, of New Lexington, Ky., died Thursday in a Kentucky care center. She was born Dec. 25, 1909, in Dixie, Ohio. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a retired merchandise buyer, a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem of the Supreme Council, Rebekah Assembly of Nevada and Order of the Eastern Star and member and past royal matron of Order of the Amaranth.

She is survived by two brothers, Richard Shumaker of New Lexington, Ohio, and Gail Shumaker of Pahrump; and one sister, Betty Tracy of Canton, Ohio.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Felix L. Horvath

Felix L. Horvath, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Austria. A resident for five years, he was a retired plater at a manufacturing company.

He is survived by two sons, Phillip J. Horvath of Las Vegas and Ronald R. Horvath of Henderson; one brother, Steve Horvath of Chicago; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Bruce Jarnberg

Bruce Jarnberg, 56, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1947, in St. Paul, Minn. A resident for two years, he was a telemarketing salesman.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice "Bee" Belzone, and one brother, Carl "Bill" Jarnberg Jr., both of Las Vegas.

William Johnson Jr.

William Johnson Jr., 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 6, 1929, in Tennessee. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Stephen and Keith Johnson; two daughters, Linda Garcia and Denise Chavez; one brother, O.D. Johnson; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Boulder City.

Jennie Catherine Jordan

Jennie Catherine Jordan, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Gallup, N.M. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker and member of Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion.

She is survived by one son, Bud Jordan of California; two daughters, Jeanette Law of Las Vegas and Shirley Terpak of California; one sister, Florence Ruschell of California; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Susan A. Kaczmarek

Susan A. Kaczmarek, 46, of Henderson died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 11, 1956, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, she was an area store manager.

She is survived by her husband, Vince; two daughters, Jennifer Kaczmarek and Jacqueline Kaczmarek, and one son, Jeremy Kaczmarek, all of Henderson; her parents, Edwin and Dorothy Sekuterski, one sister, Cynthia Kaczmarek, and two brothers, Gerald Sekuterski and Ronald Sekuterski, all of Buffalo; and one grandchild.

Sidney Klein

Sidney Klein, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 26, 1920, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for eight years, he was a retired broker for a manufacturing company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Narcisco of Basking Ridge, N.J.; one son, Irwin Klein of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Anthony J. Lorenzo, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 17, 1915, in Providence, R.I. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired supervisor for a shoe manufacturer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Diana A.; one son, Anthony J. Lorenzo Jr. of Australia; one daughter, Patricia Huber of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

James McGee

James McGee, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 30, 1920, in Oxford, Miss. A resident for 36 years, he retired as a bus driver from West Side Charter Bus Co. and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Irma; three daughters, Brenda Barnes of Las Vegas, Cartrina Thomas of Omaha, Neb., and Barbara Griffin of St. Louis; two sons, James McGee of Omaha and Reginald McGee of St. Louis; three sisters, Bullah Brooks and Ula Mae McGee, both of St. Louis, and Frankie Mae Porter of Memphis, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Justin Murphy, 82, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1920, in Shellsburg, Wis. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired poker manager and World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by one son, Terrence Murphy of Henderson; one sister, Donna May, and two brothers, Larry Murphy and Bobby Murphy, all of Dubuque, Iowa; and one grandchild.

Doshia E. Pace, 105, of Boulder City died Friday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 26, 1897, in Rose Hills, Va. A resident for 24 years, she was retired and was a homemaker.

Laura L. Patterson Prichard of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born June 29, 1960, in Florida. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Terry; one son, Trey Patterson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and two brothers, Michael Bailey of Kansas City, Kan., and Phil Culver of Ogden, Utah.

He is survived by one brother, William Sawottke of Arizona; two sisters, Lorraine Deehring of Utah and Ruth Fisher of Texas.

Phanetta Marie Shoemaker, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 16, 1923, in Wellington, Kan. A resident for 24 years, she was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

She is survived by two daughters, Robin Shoemaker and Carol Passos, and one son, John Shoemaker, all of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jerome "Jerry" Steinberg, 90, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Detroit. A resident for 44 years, he was a casino manager and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; and one grandson, Ryan L. Tiberti of Las Vegas.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Peggie Underwood

Peggie Underwood, 80, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Little Rock, Ark. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired furniture saleswoman and co-owned a sign company in Boulder City.

She is survived by three nephews, David Bujarski of Cypress, Calif., Jim Bujarski of Aurora, Colo., and Robert Bujarski of Highlands Ranch, Colo.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Marian B. Van Benthem, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Steubenville, Ohio. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired hostess and entertainer.

She is survived by two sisters, Anne Devrnja of Wintersville, Ohio, and Doris Karres of Las Vegas; and one brother, Fred Ayoub of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Verenda Denise Yurkiw

Verenda Denise Yurkiw, 34, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A resident for eight years, she was born Dec. 17, 1968, in Hattiesburg, Miss.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan; her parents, Levi and Dorothy Walker; and two sisters, Tonja Walker and Winter Hankins.
