Poetry contest

Celestial Arts is sponsoring a poetry contest for the Henderson area. Poem should be 21 lines or less. Deadline is Jan. 31. Submit entries to Celestial Arts, P.O. Box 1140, Talent, OR 97540.

'Talent Contest'

Las Vegas Cultural Affairs Division's "The Search for Talent Contest" will accept entries until 2 p.m. Jan. 18 from people ages 6 to 18. Entry forms are available at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Registration fees are $10. 229-6211.

Auditions

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society will hold auditions by appointment for its spring season. 451-6672.

Artist speech

Artist William T. Wiley will talk and perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Las Vegas Art Museum, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. Admission is free. Reservations are suggested. 360-8000.

Luncheon

Nevada Arts Advocates quarterly luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Stardust Hotel's conference center. Speakers are state Sen. Raymond Rawson and Executive Director of Nevada Arts Council Susan Boskoff. Lunch is $30. For reservations, call 362-8885.
