Keep fit with Red Rock hikes
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes, walks and programs free of charge. To make required reservations or for more information on the following or upcoming programs, call 363-1922:
Getting Started: A 10-week series to sculpt a smarter, leaner you, all while having a good time on a one-mile easy hike, Sunday.
Willow Caves: A three-mile moderately strenuous hike Monday.
Birds of Prey: An on-going program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Learn how hawks, falcons, eagles and owls make a living in the harsh and often unforgiving desert.
Lost Creek & Beyond: A two-mile moderate hike Wednesday. Hike the beautiful area of Red Rock with Janis and see the diversity that it has to offer.
Rabbi Ari Kahn
of Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem and Bar Ilan University, will lecture on "The Basis of the Arab-Israeli Conflict" at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Young Israel-Aish HaTorah, 9590 W. Sahara Ave. Admission is $10. For reservations or more information, call 360-8909.
A Las Vegas fire marshal
will speak at the Northwest Network of Neighborhoods meeting, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday at Mountain Crest Neighborhood Services Center, 4701 N.
