Online grocery service planned

Vons, a big grocery store operator in the Las Vegas area, today said it will launch its VONS.com grocery ordering and delivery service in the Las Vegas area beginning Monday.

Vons said deliveries will be offered in 20 ZIP Codes in the Las Vegas area.

Vons, a division of Safeway Inc., joins Albertsons in offering online ordering and delivery of groceries in Las Vegas.

VONS.com said it charges $4.95 for orders totaling $150 or more and $9.95 for unders under $150. Customers ordering before 10 a.m. can get same-day delivery.
