Arts Classes
Registration for Las Vegas' Cultural Affairs Division's art classes March 11 through April 19 will be through Thursday at the East Las Vegas Community/ Senior Center, 250 N. Lecture
The University Forum Lecture "How Can We Save Our Kids? Creating Child Protection in America" will be at 7:30 p.m. today at UNLV's Barrick Museum Auditorium. Admission is free. 895-3401.
Festival
The Community College of Southern Nevada will hold a food and dance festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at its Cheyenne campus. Admission is $1. 651-4575 or 651-3510.
Reading festival
The Southwestern Reading Festival will kick off Nevada Reading Week with an all-day reading celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Galleria at Sunset mall in Henderson. Admission is free. 566-6484.

Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will sponsor a lecture by Don Fabbi, author of "Growing Veggies in Your Own Backyard" at 2 p.m. Saturday at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. Admission is free. 507-3964.
