Candidates can be seen in Boulder City

Boulder City mayoral and council candidates are expected at two public events scheduled for next week.

City Council candidates are invited to a question and answer forum scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall.

The Boulder City Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a candidate meet and greet scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Community College of Southern Nevada, Boulder City campus, 700 Wyoming Drive.

Both mayoral and council candidates are expected to attend the Wednesday event, Chamber officials said.

The candidates will first face off in the April 8 primary election. Early voting is from March 22 to April 4.

March to different drummers at Pavilion

The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is holding its second annual Drum Fest 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion at Liberty Pointe, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway.

The event features a performance by singer-percussionist-arranger Vinx, who has toured with Sting, Ricki Lee Jones, Teena Marie, Tony Childs and others. It also will feature workshops and vendors.

A drum circle will be led at 6 p.m. by guest artist Arthur Hull. Tickets are $1 to $7. For more information call 384-TICS.

Police substations to hold open house

Metro Police are holding the monthly first Tuesday Open House at 7 p.m. at area substations. These topics will be discussed:
