Patricia Ann Arellano
Patricia Ann Arellano, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Sellersville, Pa. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; two sons, Scott Vetter of Covina, Calif., and Tracy Vetter of Corona, Calif.; two daughters, Sandra Carey of Covina and Terri Householder of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Max Blumenfeld
Max Blumenfeld, 91, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1911, in New York City. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a mobile catering company, a member of B'nai B'rith International and Golden Chai.
He is survived by two sons, Stewart Blumenfeld of Las Vegas and Ross Barton of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jane E. Carlin
Jane E. Carlin, 84, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 26, 1918, in Mount Prospect, Ill. A resident for two years, she was a retired schoolteacher.
She is survived by one daughter, Arlis A. Neason of Henderson; one son, Grant Carlin of Fairbanks, Alaska; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Phyllis Jean Cox
Phyllis Jean Cox, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 10, 1928, in Olney Springs, Colo.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet Burkevich and Linda Howe, both of Las Vegas, and Karyl Gribble of Manzanola, Colo.; one brother, A.C. Gribble of Las Vegas; one sister, Ailene Causey of Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Colorado. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jerome Cypress, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Norfolk, Va. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired security officer at a bank, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He is survived by one daughter, Carole L. Cypress of Largo, Md.; two sons, Jerrold Cypress of Los Angeles and Cornell Cypress of Wakefield, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Frances 'Fan' Dunnavant
Frances "Fan" Dunnavant, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 13, 1920, in Denton, Texas. A resident for four years, she was a schoolteacher for Clark County, Dallas and San Bernardino, Calif., school districts.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. James W. Dunnavant of Las Vegas and Joseph T. Dunnavant of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Kathleen J. Cecil of Garland, Texas; one sister, Kathleen Peabody of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is arranging a private memorial service.
Blanche M. Frankowski
Blanche M. Frankowski, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 31, 1912, in Pottsville, Pa. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired factory worker.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Robinson of Las Vegas; one son, Henry Frankowski of Saucier, Miss.; two sisters, Mildred Birkholtz of New Jersey and Patricia Kelley of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Stanley Tokarz of New Jersey and Bernard Tokarz of New York; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5005 Donnie Ave. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lois L. Lang, 95, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 24, 1907, in Oklahoma. A resident for two years, she was a retired owner-operator of a restaurant.
She is survived by one son, Fred Payne of Las Vegas; two sisters, Louise Rabb and Mary Williams, both of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Nathaniel Alexander Lemus
Nathaniel Alexander Lemus, 11 days, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 2003, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his parents, Shannon Eileen and Levy David Lemus, and one sister, Savannah Elizabeth Lemus, all of Las Vegas.

Steven Levayi
Steven Levayi, 89, of Las Vegas died Feb. 12 in a local care center. A retired hotel salad chef, he was born Sept. 4, 1913, in New Jersey.
He is survived by two sisters, Rose Lightcap of Phillipsburg, N.J., and Barbara Wright of West Virginia.
Graveside services will be noon Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
John R. Michalec
John R. Michalec, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 11, 1947, in Minneapolis. A resident for 13 years, he was a salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Byron Michalec of Iowa and Brett Michalec of Minnesota; one daughter, Brandy of Las Vegas; one sister, Judy Buchholz of Colorado; and nine grandchildren.

Kathleen Patricia Mihm, 39, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 9, 1963, in New York. A resident for seven years, she was a paralegal.
She is survived by her husband, David Michael; and two brothers, John and Billy.

John W. Myles
John W. Myles, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 15, 1949, in Reno. A resident for five years, he was a dentist and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; four daughters, Stephanie Tiemann, Monica Myles and Kelsey Myles, all of Reno and Micayla Myles of Las Vegas; one son, Grant Tiemann of Las Vegas; and one sister, Marcy Reddicks of Reno.

Serafin Pagao
Serafin Pagao, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 30, 1922, in the Philippines. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired hotel gardener and a member of the Ilocano Association of Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Felipa L.; three daughters, Teresa Lopez of Stockton, Calif., Gloria Grimblot of North Las Vegas and Cora Slaughter of Henderson; four sons, Aniceto Pagao and Cirilo Pagao, both of Las Vegas, Bert Pagaoa of San Antonio and Bernardo Pagao of Guam; one sister, Eusebia Portugues of the Philippines; one brother, Eddie Pagao of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Robert W. Scheef, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Woonsocket, S.D. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired mining purchasing agent and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Jessie; one son, Kelly of Spearfish, S.D.; two daughters, Cheryl Wakonda of South Dakota and Jeri Blanford of Chadron, Neb.; one sister, Lucille of California; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Wyoming. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.
Mollie Simon
Mollie Simon, 96, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 24, 1906, in New York City. A resident for more than 35 years, she was a retired bookkeeper for a lamp manufacturer.
She is survived by one sister, Celia Klein of Prescott, Ariz.

Robert Ernest Simon, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Chicago. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired paper handler for the Tribune and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene J.; one son, Dan R. Simon of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Renee E. Hubka of Willow Springs, N.C.
Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Nettie Thomas, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Griffin, Ga. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired cook for an auto manufacturer.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Clark of Las Vegas; one son, Spencer Thomas of Southfield, Mich.; one sister, Annie Spears of Springfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Donald Urbanski, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1945, in South Bend, Ind. A resident for 20 years, he was a hotel irrigation technician and a member of Teamsters Local 995.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; one daughter, Lisa Marie Jessie of Shelby, N.C.; one son, Christopher Richard Urbanski of Henderson; two sisters, Dorothy Boyer of Mishawaka, Ind., and Josephine Nowak of South Bend; one brother, Joseph Urbanski of South Bend; and four grandchildren.

He is survived by one sister, Irma Mae Montgomery of Las Vegas.
Visitation was scheduled 1-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Michael J. Whelan Sr.
Michael J. Whelan Sr., 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1937, in Troy, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired district operator for Niagara Mohawk Power Co.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Whelan Jr.
He is survived by one daughter, Sheila Thorne of Malta, N.Y.; two sons, Matthew Whelan of Hudson Falls, N.Y., and Jason Whelan of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; his girlfriend, Sandra Tayian of Las Vegas; his mother, Angeline Whelan of Troy; one brother, Peter Whelan of Vero Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Joan E. Zupsan, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 7, 1934, in St. Johns, Newfoundland. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Zupsan and Serena Massey, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Donald Adamson of Albuquerque and Randy Zupsan of Hayward, Calif.; her mother, Florence Kavanagh of St. Johns; three sisters, Margaret Madigan of Cottage Grove, Minn., Mary Kavanagh of St. Johns and Edna Malecka; five brothers, Bill Kavanagh, Edward Kavanagh, Gerald Kavanagh, John Kavanagh and Errol Kavanagh; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon until a 2 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
