Retailer bankrupt

The owners of five closed Turtle Stop convenience stores and a residential development company in the Las Vegas Valley filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.
Michael Valpiani doing business as Turtle Stop, Luxury Homes Construction & Development, Petronet Distribution LLC, Nevada Convenience Store LLC and Pioneer Turtle Stop, and his wife, Oiman Leslie Valpiani, filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 20 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas.
Nelson Segel, Valpiani's bankruptcy attorney, declined to comment on reasons behind his clients' bankruptcy filing and the closure of the Turtle Stop stores. He said he couldn't specify Valpiani's total assets and liabilities.
The Turtle Stop stores are at 300 E. Warm Springs Road, 3670 S. Paradise Road, 8816 S. Eastern Ave., 11061 S. Eastern Ave. and 4472 N. Donovan Way.
