UNLV senior Jessica Zarndt was recently selected as a finalist for the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship by a regional voting committee.
Zarndt, a cross country standout and graduate of Cheyenne High, serves as president for the UNLV Student-Athlete Advisory Board and as campus senate president pro-tempore. In 2002, she became only the third Rebel in school history to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The NCAA awards 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87 for men and 87 for women. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their last year of intercollegiate athletic competition.
