Mikohn Gaming Corp. has entered into a development agreement with Bally Gaming and Systems to develop wide-area progressive slot machines.
Mikohn will provide branded game content to run on a Bally software platform, Las Vegas-based Mikohn said. The games will be incorporated into Bally's "Thrillions" linked progressive system. Mikohn will provide all signage and electronics as part of a long-term purchasing agreement.
The companies will share profits generated from the progressive games. The agreement also allows both companies to receive certain patent benefits.
"In addition to the benefits of blending two game-development teams on future wide-area slot titles, this long-term agreement allows Bally Gaming and Systems to realize significant cost savings on the purchase of Mikohn meters and signage," said Paul Lofgren, senior vice president and general manager of Bally Gaming.
Bally Gaming is a unit of Las Vegas-based Alliance Gaming Corp.
Wide-area progressive systems link several slot machines across a large geographic area, allowing the machines to build up higher-than-normal jackpots based on the amount players gamble.
