UNLV women leading MWC Championships

The UNLV women's swimming and diving team, in search of its first conference crown since 1992, jumped into first place at the Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Oklahoma City Community College with 251 points.
Three-time defending conference champion BYU leads the men's field with 342 points. The Rebels are a distant second with 195 points.
UNLV sophomore Jonathan Hugo set a MWC and school record in the men's 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.74.
UNLV set a MWC record in the men's 400-yard medley relay. The team of Hugo, Patrick Adams, Michael Day and Joe Bartoch won in a time of 3:14.88.
UNLV also set a MWC record in the women's 400-yard medley relay. The team of Raluca Udroiu, Shayna Burns, Julie Unrau and Jessie Bradshaw won in 3:44.41.
Sophomore Alyson Noble successfully defended her 500-yard freestyle title in 4:52.57.
The event continues today and wraps up Saturday.
