Boaters fishing near the Muddy River area and Fish Island continue to have success for largemouth bass.
The fish ranged from 2-3 pounds and were taken with top-water lures. Anglers fishing around the ramp at Echo Bay also reported success for largemouth bass that averaged two pounds. No stripers were creeled in this area.
Boaters fishing in the vicinity of Government Wash and Black Island were successful landing a few stripers that weighed in at 1-3 pounds. Anchovies landed the fish.
The boaters also reported that the fish were in deep water. Shore anglers fishing with anchovies from the dock at Horsepower Cove landed stripers that ranged from 2-3 pounds.
A few rainbow trout were taken with PowerBait following the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) trout plant.
NDOW will stock Hemenway Cove, Pumphouse Cove (B5), North Saddle Cove (B3), and Horsepower Cove today.
A good number of large stripers were landed on Saturday after last Friday's trout plants. The big fish included 12-, 15-, 20- and 26-pounders. The fish were caught on trout imitation lures.
A 9 pound, 32-inch catfish rounded out the catch. The action had slowed considerably by Presidents Day.
Shore anglers had poor success following the rainbow trout fish stocking. PowerBait landed the fish.
Cottonwood Cove anglers were very successful this week.
