Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 | 9:53 a.m.

CHESTER, W.Va. -- MTR Gaming Group Inc. announced today it has reached an agreement to sell a hotel and casino in Reno.

The $2.95 million sale includes everything but the casino's gaming equipment, the company said in a news release.

MTR spokeswoman Tamara Pettit said she did not know the buyer's identity.

The Chester-based company purchased the Ramada Inn and Speakeasy Casino in 1999 and recently put the property on the market. It also owns the Speedway casino and hotel in North Las Vegas.

MTR said the agreement involves a down payment of $787,500, with the rest to be paid over seven years. The sale is expected to occur within 15 days.

MTR owns Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort in Chester and has a license to build a horse track in Erie, Pa.
