Albert S. Alimboyoguen

Albert S. Alimboyoguen, 74, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Kauai, Hawaii. A resident for nine years, he was a retired pipefitter for an oil refinery, an Army veteran and a volunteer with Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his wife, Verna E.; his children; three brothers, Bolo Sarita of Oahu, Hawaii, Harold Alimboyoguen of Fremont, Calif., and Ronald Alimboyoguen of California; two sisters, Juanita Caspillo of Fremont and Anna Medrano of Lihue, Hawaii; and his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Vera Anderson

Vera Anderson, 94, of Pahrump died Tuesday in Pahrump. She was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Indiana. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired flower shop owner-operator.

She is survived by two sons, Clifford Anderson and David Anderson, both of Pahrump; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1:30 p.m. service Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Louise Ayers

Louise Ayers, 69, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. A waitress, she was born June 12, 1933, in Pennsylvania.

She is survived by three sons, Bill Ayers, Jim Ayers and Tom Ayers; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Daniel Basil Barnett

Daniel Basil Barnett, 75, of Las Vegas died Feb. 9 in Kingman, Ariz. He worked for Pan Am Airlines, retired from the Alaska Pipeline as a security officer, was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Elks and American Legion in Alaska and the computer club, softball, piano and genealogy clubs in Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Doris.

He is survived by one son, Ron Lee Waters of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; one godson, Tristan Daniel Basil Barnett of Shelbyville, Ky.; four brothers, Kenneth Barnett of Newburgh, Ind., Raymond Barnett of Lancaster, Calif., Norman Barnett of Palmdale, Calif., and Robert Barnett of Elberfeld, Ind.; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in Elberfeld. Alexander Funeral Homes, Newburgh, is handling arrangements.

Lonnie Earl Bell

Lonnie Earl Bell, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 1, 1951, in Louisiana. A resident for 22 years, he was a fence contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Ovetta Denise; one son, Lonnie Earl Bell Jr.; three daughters, Loruhumah G. Bell of New York and Keturah Bell and Lonnettah Bell, both of Nebraska; his mother, Rosemary; and three grandchildren.

Marcus Wolf Berman

Marcus Wolf Berman, 93, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A physician, he was born Sept. 18, 1909, in Massachusetts.

Sylvia Cohen

Sylvia Cohen, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 4, 1920, in New York City. A resident for two months, she was a homemaker, a life member of Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women and and editor of the local chapter of City of Hope.

She is survived by her husband, Ben; one daughter, Joyce Scheinman of Las Vegas; one son; one brother, Carl Rosencrown of Freehold, N.J.; one sister, Shirley Koopersmith of Merrick, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Helen E. Edmunds

Helen E. Edmunds, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 9, 1926, in Minnesota. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Tom D.; two daughters, Linda Sena of Ramsey, Minn., and Mary Ann Conwell of Las Vegas; one son, Howard Edmunds of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Dixon of California and Ann LaFlem of Minnesota; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

George Eli Farah

George Eli Farah, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa. A resident for 17 years, he was retired and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; two daughters, Tammy and Renee, both of Iowa; two sons, George Jr. and Nathan, both of Nevada; and two sisters, Delores of California and Fidelis of Nevada; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service, 725 S. Casino Center, Suite 208, is handling arrangements.

William Joseph Gillilan

William Joseph Gillilan, 47, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 30, 1955, in Rawlins, Wyo. A resident for 17 years, he was an insurance agent.

He is survived by one brother, Richard J. Gillilan of Las Vegas.

Fred Watson Haskins

Fred Watson Haskins, 75, of Stewart Point on Lake Mead died Tuesday. He was born March 30, 1927, in Enid, Okla. A resident for nine years, he was a a heavy equipment operator, helping build gas pipelines in Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Canada and the United States before owning his own construction business, Haskins Loader Service. He retired as superintendent and construction mechanic for Paul Hubbs Construction of Rialto, Calif., in 1992 and was a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mardell; four sons, Fred, Tom, Robert and Jack, two stepdaughters, Cheri Jaggar and Cyrene Jaggar Wise, all of Southern California; two stepsons, Lance Jaggar and Layne Jaggar, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Roy of Lake San Marcos, Calif., and Denton of Mentone, Calif.; one sister, Beverly Cuzzens of Escondido, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the LDS chapel, 226 W. Thomas St., Overton. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., handled arrangements.

Maurice Horan

Maurice Horan, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A painter, he was born Aug. 1, 1943, in New York.

He is survived by one daughter, Kelly Joseph of California.

Lawrence D. Iddings

Lawrence D. Iddings, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1926, in Mapleton, Iowa. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired postal worker, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandi Butler of Bandon, Ore., Cathi Meschnark of Centralia, Wash., and Jaci Kehl of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lorraine Smith of Albany, Ore., and Marion Theobald of Mapleton, Iowa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Genelia Rabuya Oshiro

Genelia Rabuya Oshiro, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 3, 1949, in the Philippines. A resident for 11 years, she was a dealer.

She is survived by her husband, Adam; one son, Adam Jr.; one daughter, Caroline Oshiro-Otsuka; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Inez Park

Inez Park, 92, of Everett, Wash., died Sunday in Everett. She was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Idaho. A former Las Vegas resident for 30 years, she was a retired legal secretary.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Gregory Scott Pearson

Gregory Scott Pearson, 16, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 7, 1986, in Phoenix. A resident for 12 years, he was a student at Silverado High School.

He is survived by his father, Ed Pearson, his mother, Karen Pearson, and one sister, Corey Pearson, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Victor and Elayne Pearson of Phoenix and Norman and Winnie Myer of Boulder City.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in First Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, Henderson. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

J.W. Pearson

J.W. Pearson, 73, of Pahrump died Sunday in Pahrump. He was born April 5, 1929, in Epps, La. A resident of Las Vegas for 52 years and a Pahrump resident for three years, he was a retired retail meat cutter, a member of the Meat Cutters Union, a former deacon at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Las Vegas and a current deacon at South Valley Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; two daughters, Peggy Dixon and Carolyn "Diane" Dixon, two sons, Jimmy Pearson and Larry Walker, and two sisters, Georgia Thompson and Maebell Funchess, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, the Rev. Edward Pearson of Epps, La., and James Pearson of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Patsy Lynn Penman

Patsy Lynn Penman, 60, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by three sons, Davis Cline of Lakewood, Colo., Tracy Cline of San Diego and Kevin Cline of Aurora, Colo.; one daughter, Lisa Schubauer of Elizabeth, Colo.; two brothers, Arden Paxton of Sterling, Colo., and Kenny Paxton of Las Vegas; one sister, Donna Sibert of Layton, Utah; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 3 p.m. memorial service Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Theodore T. Pierz

Theodore T. Pierz, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local convalescent center. He was born March 7, 1924, in New Castle, Pa. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired real estate executive and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Jeffery B. Pierz of Las Vegas; two daughters, Randi Pierz and Sandi Pierz, both of San Diego; two sisters, Lee Secor of Houston and Jane Woitowicz of New Castle; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Stefani Gene Schwartz

Stefani Gene Schwartz, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Los Angeles. A resident for 43 years, he was a room reservations clerk in the hotel industry for 20 years.

He is survived by her husband, Randy; two daughters, Sondra Miller and Shanyn Wolfe, one son, Christopher Bonell, and one sister, Pamela Hodnett, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Geoff Hanson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Gerald O. Shelton

Gerald O. Shelton, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born May 25, 1923, in Pueblo, Colo. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired electrical engineer, a World War II Marine Corps veteran who served with the 1st Marine Division and was a member of Experimental Aviation Association.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica; one son, Charles Lackner of Craig, Colo.; one daughter, Sharon L. Haworth of San Ramon, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby J. Custard and Barbara J. Guthrie, both of Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled from noon until 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones.

Kody David Sturgin

Kody David Sturgin, 9 months, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 10, 2002, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, David and Renee Sturgin, and one sister, Zoey R. Sturgin, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Jane Hicks of Las Vegas and James Sturgin of Henderson.

Isabel Thomas

Isabel Thomas, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. An occupational therapist, she was born April 3, 1916, in Pennsylvania.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Barnett of Las Vegas.

Rose Marie Thomas

Rose Marie Thomas, 42, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 6, 1960, in California. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Rudy W. Thomas, Matthew David Thomas and David Michael Thomas, all of Las Vegas; her parents, Fred and Peggy Ferrel; her life friend, Bob Thomas; two brothers, Gilbert Ferrel and Tony Ferrel, and one sister, Ramona McCloud, all of California.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Santa Rosa, Calif. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling arrangements.

Teresa Jean Tipton

Teresa Jean Tipton, 46, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 30, 1956, in Oklahoma. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; one son, Eric Tipton of Las Vegas; three daughters, Wendy Martin of Utah and Christina Tipton and Jessica Tipton, both of Las Vegas; her father, William Martin, and her mother, Darlene McMahon, and two brothers, William D. Martin Jr. and Robert L. Martin, all of Arkansas; one sister, Becky Martin of Oregon; and three grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be in Whittier, Calif.

Ferramondo Trombini

Ferramondo Trombini, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Cologna, Italy. A resident for three years, he was a restaurant captain.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Stefano of Bologna, Italy, and Stefan of Lucerne, Switzerland; two brothers, Mario and Paulo; and one grandson.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bill Glenn Warren, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for two years, he was a loan officer.

He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Warren of Orange, Calif.; and his parents, Wilton and Margaret Warren of Las Vegas.

Jeff Wolff

Jeff Wolff, 36, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1966, in Knoxville, Tenn. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired hotel supervisor and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Staci; one daughter, Allison R. Wolff of Las Vegas; his parents, Sherry and Fred Stewart of Chuckey, Tenn., and Jack and Jen Wolff of Kingsport, Tenn; and his grandmother, Johnnie B. Yarbrough of Daytona Beach, Fla.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Alberta E. 'Cookie' Yanke, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 27, 1941, in Everett, Mass. A resident for 49 years, she was retired from Clark County.

She is survived by two sons, Steven Yanke and Rodney Yanke, and one sister, Jackie Mason, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 4 p.m. service Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
