ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Stock in Dell Computer Corp. rose nearly 7 percent today to $24.86 after the company reported record sales and sharply higher profits in its latest quarter as sales of servers and storage devices surged.
Dell earned $603 million or 23 cents per share in its fourth quarter ended Jan. 31, up from the $456 million or 17 cents in the same period a year ago.
