Las Vegas Area Fishing Report: Angler nabs largemouth bass

NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE

Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) creel census clerks reported that a boater fishing near the Muddy River and Fish Island at Lake Mead was successful landing four largemouth bass that averaged 3 pounds. Top water lures landed the fish.

Anglers fishing the lower basin reported that fishing activity has slowed somewhat from the previous week. Boaters fishing Hemenway with anchovies reported success for stripers that averaged 18 inches.

Today, NDOW will stock Hemenway Cove, Pumphouse Cove (B5), North Saddle Cove (B3), and Horsepower Cove.

A local angler was very successful at Willow Beach this past week. Using a 12-inch O' Henry lure, he was able to land two stripers that weighed in at 29 and 28 pounds.

NDOW stocked Willow Beach on Thursday.
