Tips on genealogy available at meeting
Davida Noyek Handler will demonstrate how the Similar Interest Group can help with genealogy research at the Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada's meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday in the multi-purpose room of the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. Noyek .
The meeting is geared to all levels of genealogists and is open to all interested parties.

Flumpa entertains at local libraries
Flumpa and Friends Live! featuring Wendy the Singing Scientist will perform a free shows next week at several Las Vegas-Clark County Libraries.
The programs are scheduled Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead; at 4 p.m. at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave., and 7 p.m. at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway.
Additional programs are Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.; 4 p.m. at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, and West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.
The interactive show delivers a blend of music and science in an exploration of Earth and the universe beyond. The performances feature Flumpa, the adventurous tree frog, and Wendy Whitten, singer, songwriter and storyteller.

A 3.5 mile family hike
to La Madre Springs Saturday highlights this week's program at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Hikes, walks and other educational programs are offered free of charge. Call 363-1922.
