FORT WORTH, Texas -- Moody's Investors Service lowered its rating Monday on debt issued by American Airlines and its parent company, citing the carrier's "continued deterioration in financial strength."
The move could make it more difficult and costly for American to borrow. Moody's said it was concerned American could continue to lose large amounts unless it can significantly cut expenses.
