The Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE) has filed unfair labor practice charges against a North Las Vegas plant of Cincinnati-based Cintas Corp., a workplace uniform rental company, as part of a nationwide organizing drive of some 17,000 Cintas workers.
Cintas was accused of threatening to fire union sympathizers at its 120-worker North Las Vegas plant at or reporting them to immigration officials. The company also threatened to close the plant if it was forced to recognize the union, UNITE charged.
William Gale, Cintas vice president of finance and chief financial officer, said the charges are "frivolous and have no basis."
