Elva 'Geri' Allred

Elva "Geri" Allred, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 3, 1914, in Murchison, Texas. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker and the widow of E.O. Allred, whose family came to Nevada in the 1950s and opened the first Volkswagen dealership in Nevada.

She is survived by one daughter, Pat Sheldon, and one son, Jerry Allred, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Austin E. Aulds of Vernon, Texas, and Harold Aulds of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Memorial Fund 4709 S. Nellis Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Thomas A. Blair

Thomas A. Blair, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired beverage industry worker, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet R.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. today in the Scoreboard Lounge, 2400 S. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Howard Buckner

Howard Buckner, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 27, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a senior vice president for a money center.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Elizabeth Price of Dallas and Tracy Crouch and Michele Howard, both of Frisco, Texas; one brother, Michael Buckner of Riverdale, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Laurie M. Burgess

Laurie M. Burgess, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She is survived by Dec. 16, 1939, in Oregon. A resident for four years, she was an administrative assistant with the Nevada secretary of state.

She is survived her husband, Robert Jr.; two sons, Erik Burgess and Kenneth Burgess; two daughters, Sherrie Burgess and Heidi Heck; one brother, Bruce Walker; and 11 grandchildren.

A vigil will be 7 p.m. today at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 6010 Smoke Ranch Road. Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Harry P. Butland Sr.

Harry P. Butland Sr., 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Boston. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired chemical company foreman, a World War II Army veteran and Silver Star recipient, a member of the Elks and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one son, Harry P. Butland Jr. of Winchendon, Mass.; two daughters, Claire Polsey of Littleton, Mass., and Deborah Trites of Hudson, N.H.; one brother, William Butland of Arlington, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Saratoga Palms Function Room, 2775 Fremont St. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to a veterans organization of the donor's choice.

Deanna Lynn Byrne

Deanna Lynn Byrne, 38, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Henderson. She was born April 10, 1964, in Montebello, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her companion, Paul Renteria of Las Vegas; her parents, Paul and Shirley Slonaker of Oceanside, Calif.; and her grandmother, Lucille Gregg of Buena Park, Calif.

A memorial service date is pending. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Anthony Parker Connors

Anthony Parker Connors, 19, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. He was born Aug. 31, 1983, in Yuba City, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a dishwasher at the Pahrump Nugget.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Annette and John Connors of Pahrump; three sisters, Heather Connors and Shara Connors, both of Pahrump and Michelle McGuire of Las Vegas; one brother, Shane Connors of Las Vegas; his grandmother, Lillian Connors of Pahrump; two nieces; and two nephews.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.

Arthur Cuccuini

Arthur Cuccuini, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. A painter, he was born April 21, 1923, in Florence, N.J.

He is survived by one brother, Herbert Cuccuini of Ruskin, Fla.; and three sisters, Jennie Antuzzi of Robinsville, N.J., Lois A. Janson of Santa Clara, Calif., and Vicinia Velez of Burlington, N.J.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Burlington. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Donald Curtis

Donald Curtis, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 19, 1938, in New Orleans. A resident for 32 years, he was a machinist for the power company.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Michael Curtis of San Francisco and Steven Curtis of Henderson; two sisters, Dolores Vanderdose of Riverside, Calif., and Dorothy of Virginia; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Robin M. Daniels

Robin M. Daniels, 34, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born May 7, 1968, in Hill Air Force Base, Utah. A resident for 26 years, she was a certified medical records clerk for a nursing facility, worked at the North Las Vegas Care Center for eight years, was a notary public and a spokeswoman for Canine Companions for Independence.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Daniels, and one brother, Robert M. Daniels, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Robert C. Foster

Robert C. Foster, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1930, in San Francisco. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired interpreter for a government agency and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Alice L.; one sister, Sarah W. Stephens of Napa, Calif.; and one brother, Ben B. Foster Jr. of Novato, Calif.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mariano Gonzalez

Mariano Gonzalez, 55, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. A resident for 17 years, he was born March 3, 1947, in Puerto Rico.

He is survived by his wife, Elisa; four sons, Craig Thompson, Christian Gonzalez, Mercardo Gonzalez and Mariano Jr.; two sisters, Angelica and Manuela; two brothers, George and Raphael; and several grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, Henderson. Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Robert Andrew Horak Sr.

Robert Andrew Horak Sr., 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 9, 1925, in Mount Pleasant, Pa. A resident for 16 years, he was a security supervisor for an automobile company and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by five children; 15 grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Saturday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

William McCurdy

William McCurdy, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 19, 1926, in Highland Park, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired owner-operator of an automotive firm and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patti J.; four daughters, Susan McCurdy of Pasadena, Calif., Marilynn Hansen of Los Angeles, Nancy McCurdy of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Linda Roth of Las Vegas; three sons, Larry McCurdy of Los Angeles, Bill McCurdy of Lakeview Terrace, Calif., and Bill Giebe of Diamond Bar, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Marion Pabian, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 24, 1924, in Massachusetts. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, John Michael Jr. and Andrew; one daughter, Patricia; and three grandchildren.

Wilma S. Peters

Wilma S. Peters, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Indonesia. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker and a member of American Association of Retired Persons.

She is survived by her husband, Ernst S.; two daughters, Loraine Peters of Kona, Hawaii, and Jolanda Mitchell of Phoenix; one son, Donald Cramer, and one sister, Ziska Huppe, both of Amsterdam; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Hans Schrader

Hans Schrader, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A maintenance worker, he was born May 18, 1938, in Germany.

He is survived by one brother, Horst Ramisch of Florida; and two sisters, Ursula Kneifel of Germany and Sigrid Scholl-Rogers of Illinois.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Joanne Sherman

Joanne Sherman, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Kentucky. A resident for 28 years, she was a casino shift supervisor.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; four sons, Chris Bryan, Vince Sherman, Shell Sherman and Marvin Gebers; three daughters, Chelli Smith, Phyllis Bryan and Kim Barkis; two brothers, Dee Wilkins and Jimmy Wilkins; and four grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private family services.

Eleanor Marie Stroinski

Eleanor Marie Stroinski, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 17, 1922, in Milwaukee. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Stroinski of Las Vegas.

Milwaukee services are pending. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is assisting with arrangements.

Rose Totino

Rose Totino, 92, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 22, 1910, in New York City. A resident for 29 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Angela DiGiacomo of Henderson; two sons, Dominick Totino and Rocco Totino, both of Pahrump; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
