Freshman Sheena Moore made two crucial free throws with 11 seconds left in regulation to ice the UNLV women's basketball team's 68-65 comeback victory over Mountain West Conference rival Wyoming Thursday night at Cox Pavilion.
Wyoming (13-6, 3-3) led most of the second half after taking a 32-29 advantage at halftime. But the Cowgirls saw their eight-point lead dwindle with four minutes left as UNLV broke out on a 15-4 run.
Moore's 3-pointer with 1:22 left gave the Lady Rebels their first lead of the half, 66-65.
Wyoming regained control and looked for a game-winning shot, but committed a turnover. Moore received the inbounds pass and was fouled, setting up her game-clinching free throws.
Moore and senior Constance Jinks each scored 15 points for UNLV. Sherry McCracklin scored 14 points while Talisha Mitchell added 13.
Ashley Elliott led Wyoming with a game-high 16 points.
UNLV (12-7, 3-3) will host Colorado State (11-9, 2-4) on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at Cox.
