Las Vegas Arts District will showcase local artists, unique shops and street entertainment from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. the first Friday of each month at Main Street and Charleston Boulevard. Admission is free. 678-6278.
Poetry contest
The Bards of Burbank are sponsoring a religious poetry contest for the Henderson area. Poems should be 21 lines or less. Deadline is Feb. 15. Submit entries to Free Poetry Contest, PMB250, 2219 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA 91506.
Latin films
Las Vegas Cultural Affairs Division presents four films from Latin American directors at 2 p.m. Sundays in February at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Admission is $4. 229-6383.
Songs
The Las Vegas Songwriters Association will sponsor a "pitch/critique" from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Cabana Mobile Home Park recreation room, 5303 E.
