Public meetings set on master-plan changes

Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 | 9:23 a.m.

Clark County commissioners are seeking comment on what advocates are calling stronger, more reliable master plans.

County officials will hold a public meeting Feb. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the commission chambers, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, on the issue. The meeting will be aired live on local cable Channel 4 and on the county's website at www.accessclarkcounty.com.

The commission is tentatively scheduled to consider the new ordinance Feb. 19.

The proposal would bar changes to new master plans for two years after adoption and include further restrictions on plan amendments and waivers. The ordinance also would expand notification requirements for property owners who might be affected by such changes.

Interested residents can also comment on the ordinance at these meetings of the town advisory boards:

Feb. 11 -- Lone Mountain at 6:30 p.m. at Mountain Crest Neighborhood Services Center, 4701 N. Durango Road; Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. at West Flamingo Senior Center, 6255 W. Flamingo Road; Paradise at 7 p.m. at Paradise Park Community Center, 4775 McLeod Drive.
