Jerry Centers

Jerry Centers, 42, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A commercial tour bus driver, he was born in Norwalk, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Steven E. Centers and James T. Centers, and two daughters, Deborah Centers and Cheryl Centers, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Ronald Centers of Atascadero, Calif.; and one sister, Barbara Kirby of Yorba Linda, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Hites Funeral Services is handling arrangements.

Michael Ray Chastain

Michael Ray Chastain, 51, of Las Vegas died Jan. 16 in Las Vegas. He was born March 21, 1951, in Muncie, Ind. A resident for 11 years, he was a production manager for an architectural company, an Army veteran and a member of the Construction Specification Institute.

He is survived by his wife, Loralie Ann; one son, Shawn Michael Chastain of Las Vegas; two sisters, Michele "Chastain" Ulen of Muncie and Melody "Chastain" Siddons of St. Augustine, Fla.; and one brother, Mark A. Chastain of Muncie.

Graveside services were in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Charlie Cooper Sr.

Charlie Cooper Sr., 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born May 13, 1922, in Somerset, La. A resident for 52 years, he was a laborer for REECo.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie Mae; one son, Charlie Cooper Jr. of Sacramento; two daughters, Georgia Ann and Margaret, three brothers, James Cooper Sr., Ennis Cooper Sr. and Joe Cooper Jr., and one sister, Rosie Wicsk, all of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Jack M. Doty

Jack M. Doty, 79, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Cherokee, Kan. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired owner-operator of an auto parts store, a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a former member of the Lions Club in Boulder City and the Elks Lodge of Boulder City, a member of United Commercial Travelers of America, a life member of the Fourth Marine Division and served on the Boulder City Hospital Board for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn A.; one son, Jack M. Doty Jr. of Boulder City; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Alverson-Perez of Fremont, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

George Federoff

George Federoff, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for two years, he was a retired carpenter, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Guadalcanal Survivors Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Joyce Hogg of Las Vegas; one stepson, Russell H. Young of Hayward, Calif.; one sister, Stella Kuchta of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Junella M. Gaines

Junella M. Gaines, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 7, 1925, in Big Stone Gap, Va. A resident for six years, she was a retired federal government research analyst.

She is survived by one son, Eric Gaines; one daughter, Freda Gaines of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Jeraldine Dacus of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Irene T. Galecki

Irene T. Galecki, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Philadelphia. A resident for nine years, she was a retired ceramics teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Richard J.; one son, Richard M. Galecki of Warrenton, Va.; and two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Josephine Griffin

Josephine Griffin, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 16, 1922, in Lake Village, Ark. A resident for seven years, she was a retired nurse.

She is survived by one son, Gerald Griffin of Los Angeles.

Velma Hamilton

Velma Hamilton, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 11, 1916, in Green Forest, Ark. A resident for 49 years, she was a retired beautician.

She is survived by one son, R. Leon Netz of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mary F. Hendrock

Mary F. Hendrock, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Middlesboro, Ky. A resident for 15 years, she was a cashier in the hotel industry for 15 years.

She is survived by one son, Jimmie Wilson of Florida; three daughters, Deborah Cartwright, Cindy Gilmore and Brenda Welden, her mother, Sadie Lee Taylor, two sisters, Jane Taylor and Kathy Taylor, and two brothers, Jim Taylor and Lloyd Taylor, all of Ohio; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

James Henley

James Henley, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Eugene, Mo. A resident for 24 years, he owned and operated What's Up gentleman's club, was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Henley of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Sarah A. Hernandez

Sarah A. Hernandez, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1919, in New York City. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by three daughters, Bernadine Anderson of Las Vegas, Angelina Yokay of Cameron Park, Calif., and Aida Shaw of Henderson; one son, Thomas Artis of North Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

William A. Kuhn

William A. Kuhn, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Osage, Iowa. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a truck stop and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine R.; three sons, Cliff, Mark and Paul, and three daughters, Lisa DeLong, Nadine Sekavec and Lynda Murphy, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Joe Kuhn of Port Arkansas, Texas; four sisters, Mary Ann Goings and Carol Eckerman, both of Evansdale, Iowa, and Helen Hites and Dolores Allen, both of Tacoma, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 5 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jackie Lomboy

Jackie Lomboy, 17, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Oklahoma. She was born July 30, 1985, in Las Vegas. A resident of Las Vegas and Cushing, Okla., she was a student.

She is survived by her mother, Liz Colla of Las Vegas.

Diane Claire MacKay

Diane Claire MacKay, 65, of Las Vegas died Jan. 27 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Glasgow, Mont. A resident for 62 years, she was a teacher, a member of Clark County Teachers Association, Public Employees Retirement System, Nevada Business Education Association, Clark County Vocational Association and Greater Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by her companion, Ted L. Golem; three daughters, Laurie Curry, Janine MacKay and JoDee Lynette MacKay; one brother, Dwayne D. Towne; and two grandchildren.

Ridgely Hall 'Rocky' Maddux

Ridgely Hall "Rocky" Maddux, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Fort Campbell, Ky. A resident for almost 30 years, he was a dealer.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Tina Cumpton-Maddux; one sister, Wanda K. Surrency of Las Vegas and one brother, Herbert Wayne Maddux of Henderson.

John Mangina, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1910, in Cleveland. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired aircraft electronics technician.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; one daughter, Frances Gagliano of Las Vegas; one son, Benjamin Mangina of Fresno, Texas; five sisters, Sara, Lucy, Lorraine, Cary and Mary; one brother, Ben Mangina; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Connie Marella

Connie Marella, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Ross and Amy Leyva, both of Las Vegas, and Angela Gallina of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Paul S. Migaki, 39, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1963, in Chicago. A resident for eight years, he was a retail stocker.

He is survived by his mother, Helen; one brother, Chris, and one sister, Penny Figueroa, all of Las Vegas.

Gladys L. Mills, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A homemaker, she was born April 6, 1925, in Chadron, Neb.

She is survived by her husband, August.

Ronald Eugene Potter, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1934, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired police officer and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; one daughter, Michelle Morgan; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Marilyn, Fred, Ken, Elaine, Jayne and Peppi; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ethel Eunice Russell

Ethel Eunice Russell, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born July 30, 1921, in Kansas.

Hazel 'Billie' Shoemaker

Hazel "Billie" Shoemaker, 77, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Haxtun, Colo. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Charles R. Shoemaker of Boulder City and Steven Shoemaker of Las Vegas.

She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Heinz of Lancaster, Calif., and Joyce Lee of Billings, Mont.; and her stepmother, Meryl M. Simonson of Salem, Ore.

Craig Stoney

Craig Stoney, 54, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born April 1, 1948, in Lynwood, Calif. A resident for eight years, he was an automobile mechanical engineer, a Vietnam War Navy veteran, a member of Harley Owners Group, Team Vets and Greater Las Vegas Board of Realtors, an Eagle Scout and president of the Master Series Homeowners Association.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; one son, Konnor Stoney of Henderson; three daughters, Krista Middlekauff of Lake Forest, Calif., Kellee Stoney of Escondido, Calif., and Kendra Colson of Henderson; his parents, Rex and Carol Stoney of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one sister, Lynn Smith of Brea, Calif.; and one granddaughter.

Vernon Zobian Sr., 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Yettem, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a landscaper and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Zobian and Vernon Zobian Jr.; and two grandchildren.
