Killings called murder, suicide
Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003 | 10:16 a.m.
A man shot his wife and then shot himself in their Summerlin home this morning, Metro Police said.
The woman called 911 about 12:30 a.m. and said her husband was trying to kill her, Metro Lt. Chris Hoye said.
As officers arrived at their home in the 10300 block of Forum Hills Place, near Town Center Drive and Hualapai Way, they heard two gunshots coming from the house.
They heard a third shot while they were kicking down the door, Hoye said.
The woman was still conscious when officers found her, but died a short time later in the house. Officers found the man dead.
The Clark County coroner's office had not released their names this morning.
Hoye said a motive for the murder-suicide isn't clear. The man and woman were alone in the house at the time, he said.
