Letter: Conserve water, stop growth in Southern Nevada

Just think if we homeowners don't water our lawns, don't wash our cars and cut down on showers and baths. We could save enough water so that the folks who live around all of the valley's man-made lakes will be be able to float their boats and use their fountains and water their golf courses. And by cutting back on our water use we can also make that lifestyle possible for all the people who will, in the future, enjoy the man-made lakes that are now in the planning stages.
Seriously now, we should conserve our water, stop growth and stop building and filling man-made lakes. We need to face the facts: We are running out of water and we are still allowing 5,000 to 6,000 people a month to move here. Consequently, we will have more smog and traffic, more crime, more crowded schools -- and less water.
Southern Nevada, you had better close the borders -- pronto -- or Mother Nature will close them for us.
