ARLINGTON, V.A. -- US Airways Group Inc., the No. 7 U.S. airline, will be the first carrier to sell meals from chef Wolfgang Puck on some flights next year, starting with smoked turkey sandwiches and Chinois salad.
The $10 meals will be served during the first quarter on most domestic flights of at least 700 miles and on some Caribbean journeys. The meals feature ingredients such as caramelized pecans, dried apples and coffee-fudge brownies, US Airways said.
Puck, a classically trained French chef born in Austria, made his name in the U.S. in the 1980s with his gourmet pizzas, garnished with non-traditional toppings such as caviar and smoked salmon. He sells his cuisine at restaurants such as Spago in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
