Letter: School will have negative effects

The citizens of rural northwest Las Vegas want to know from Las Vegas Councilman Michael Mack: Where is the traffic report you promised us regarding the huge high school planned for our area?
We also want to see the environmental report that was supposed to be done to protect the burrowing owls and tortoises.
These reports are public information. They are public documents but they are being withheld. We want to see them.
The Clark County School District has expressed little concern for the orchards adjacent to the school site. We think they will be harmed by the high school's parking overflow.
I would like to see an agricultural learning center for this 35-acre site, not a high school. A high school deserves at least 50 acres.
I want the city to know that the School Board is throwing away money on this site. I know that there is Bureau of Land Management land that the school district could buy for less money.
Also, the original master plan did not have that site intended for a high school.
